Refund Information
We look forward to another successful year. However, prior to registering please understand the policies stated below.
Cash refunds and/or entry credits will be considered for athletes incuring medical injuries. To qualify for a cash refund or credit you must contact our office within 7 days prior-to or 7 days after the completion of our event. Cash refunds and/or entry credits will be considered only for injuries occuring after the transfer period has expired. Please contact our office for a refund submission form. The form must be completed by your physician and returned to us within a 7 day period. Those injuries that occur prior to our transfer deadline (see paragraph below) will not qualify for a cash refund. However transfering your entry is still possible.
Transfers: We do realize that athletes may be prevented from participating for legitimate reasons. If you are unable to participate, we will allow transfers to another athlete for the current year only. The transfer deadline is indicated on the transfer form (see link below). In order to transfer your entry, you must follow these instructions. As noted on the form, we must have completed forms and payment prior to the deadline. Use the link below to go to the transfer form and instructions.
If any athlete sells his/her entry and it is not communicated to the event director in accordance to the transfer process described above, both athletes will be disqualified and prohibited from participating in the Santa Barbara Triathlon for a minimum of 2 years. Selling an entry jeopardizes our event insurance and will ultimately result in higher insurance and entry fees. For more information on this issue please consult USA Triathlon.
Event Cancellation: Though this has never occured it is possible that circumstances beyond the control of the Event Director (e.g. severe weather, changes in governmental policies affecting the event course, acts of God such as fire or flood or similar unforeseen circumstances) could cause substantial modification or even cancellation of the event. In such event, there would be no refund to participants nor any reimbursement for event related expenses incurred by participants.
Our event has a proud tradition as one of the oldest long course triathlon event in the United States, and we look forward to another successful year. However, we do want you to understand, before registering, the above policies and how they may affect you as a participant.
