We look forward to another successful year. However, prior to registering please understand the policies stated below.
We do not issue refunds - however you can purchase Registration Insurance - see below.
Registration Insurance: During online registration, starting in 2013, all athletes have the opportunity to purchase registration insurance for only $7. This program is offered through Active.com. Here is whats covered.
If you are injured and can't participate and you purchased the registration insurance you should call: Allianz Insurance @ (888) 497-6987
Transfers: We do realize that athletes may be prevented from participating for legitimate reasons. If you are unable to participate, we will allow transfers to another athlete for the current year only. The transfer process and deadline are explained here. In order to transfer your entry, you must follow these instructions.
We do not maintain a list of people looking to buy or sell entries.
Entries can only be transferred for the current event.
Entries can be transferred regardless of gender.
If any athlete sells his/her entry and it is not communicated to the event director in accordance to the transfer process described above, both athletes will be disqualified and prohibited from participating in the Santa Barbara Triathlon for a minimum of 2 years. Selling an entry jeopardizes our event insurance and will ultimately result in higher insurance and entry fees. For more information on this issue please consult USA Triathlon.
Event Cancellation: Though this has never occurred it is possible that circumstances beyond the control of the Event Director (e.g. severe weather, changes in governmental policies affecting the event course, acts of God such as fire or flood or similar unforeseen circumstances) could cause substantial modification or even cancellation of the event. In such event, there would be no refund to participants nor any reimbursement for event related expenses incurred by participants.
Our event has a proud tradition as one of the oldest long course triathlon events in the United States, and we look forward to another successful year. However, we do want you to understand, before registering, the above policies and how they may affect you as a participant.
