CASACASA of Santa Barbara County

Beyond stunning scenery and flawless operations, a big part of what makes the Santa Barbara Triathlon so unique is our commitment to giving back to the community that supports us so wholeheartedly. Since 2002, our fundraising efforts have raised more than $445,000 for local non-profit organizations. This year, our goal is to exceed the half-million dollar mark. Please help us by supporting our 2015 beneficiary, CASA of Santa Barbara County.

Since 1995, CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Santa Barbara County has been the only local agency with volunteers appointed by the dependency court to advocate for abused and neglected children. For children in the dependency court system, losing a parent, suffering abuse, or being removed from their home easily becomes the most stressful situation you can imagine for a child. CASA makes sure they don’t have to go through that time alone.

Throughout CASA’s twenty years of service to children, the community — from individuals to corporations to community partners — has responded passionately to this call to action, so CASA set their goals of expanding to meet the needs of the children. Part of meeting this goal was to be chosen as the beneficiary of the Santa Barbara Triathlon, which will bring needed funds and also bring heightened awareness.

Thanks in part to your support, and the proceeds from the Santa Barbara Triathlon, the vision of providing a CASA to every child who needs one now seems within reach. Besides being a microcosm of the community, CASA of Santa Barbara County is now an outright expression of the community’s will to care for its children. This year could be the turning point, the year when children are no longer put on a waiting list for months, in hopes of being paired with their champion.
