Hi Everyone!
We are one week out from event day! This email contains the updated event schedule as well as the swim heats. There are also some reminders from our previous email. Please read the entire email to help make event weekend smoother for the athletes and volunteers.
The event is sold out and the waiting list is closed. THERE WILL BE NO ONSITE REGISTRATION.
Zoom Course Talk Recording
The zoom course talk last week was a big success. Thank you to all who joined us. If you have not already, I STRONGLY encourage you to view the talk. You can access either from our website home page www.santabarbaratriathlon.com or our Facebook page.
Covid Concerns
Our team has continuously monitored the guidance from the CDC, state of CA and county of Santa Barbara. Currently there is no indication hosting an outdoor event is unsafe.
That said, please be respectful of your fellow athletes, volunteers, and the community at large. Masks are not required by encouraged in higher density areas such as packet pick up, the transition area and expo. If you are unvaccinated, I strongly encourage you to please wear a mask at all times in these areas.
We will have masks, gloves and hand sanitizer at the registration tables. Please help yourself.

Packet Pick Up REMINDER
Packet Pick up will be Friday, August 27, from noon to 6:30 PM at East Beach in Santa Barbara. Registration tables will be on the ocean side of the pavilion. (1118 E Cabrillo Blvd, Santa Barbara, CA 93103)
As a courtesy to traveling athletes, we will have a very small window of time to pick up your packet on Saturday morning from 5 AM to 6:45 AM. I don’t recommend waiting until Saturday in case the lines are long and 6:45 will be a HARD CUT OFF.
TRANSITION AREA WILL CLOSE FOR ENTRY AT 7 AM
If you are racing, you and your bike MUST be in transition by 7AM. Athletes will not be permitted to enter transition to set up after this cut off. This is for the safety of all athletes whose events have begun the event and will be moving through the transition area.
If you are on a relay team, your bike must be on the rack by 7AM. If your runner chooses to arrive later that will be allowed.
If you arrive after transition closes with your bike you will NOT be permitted to race. Plan ahead.
Athletes who live in the area or are staying in nearby hotels are encouraged to ride their bikes to transition as parking is street parking and limited.
That’s all for now! Stay safe, keep training, and see you on the beach!
